The first quarter of 2021: Home prices in Independence increased

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2021 in Independence rose by $390,423 while total sales decreased by 40%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2021, there were six homes sold, with a median sale price of $1,001,500 - a 63.9% increase over the $611,078 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 10 homes sold in Independence in the first quarter of 2020.

The median sales tax in Independence for the most recent year with available data, 2019, was $5,374, approximately 0.5% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2021.
