Cedar Island Elementary School issued the following announcement.
Thanks to funding from the USDA, free breakfast and lunch are available to all Osseo Area Schools students until further notice.
Elementary schools (hybrid learning model)
Free breakfast and lunch will be served to students in school on their in-person learning days. At the end of each in-person learning day, free breakfast and lunch bundles will be offered to students to take home for the next day. If you do not wish for your child to be given meals for their home learning days, please opt out of this service. Weekend meal bags are available for curbside pick-up at all District 279 middle and high schools on Fridays from 7:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. beginning Friday, Nov. 13.
Middle & senior high schools (distance learning model; not enrolled in the Distance Learning Academy)
Starting Nov. 9, free breakfast and lunch will be offered for curbside pick-up, Monday – Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Beginning Nov. 13, weekend meal bags plus the Friday meal will be available on Fridays. You do not need to sign up for these meals; simply come to pick them up. If you are unable to pick up meals curbside and would like meals provided to you, please call 763-315-7691.
Students enrolled in the Distance Learning Academy
Free 7-day meal boxes are available for pick-up on Fridays. The meal boxes contain seven breakfasts and seven lunches intended to be consumed the following Monday – Sunday. Menus can be viewed on the district website; menus reflect the same offerings offered to non-DLA students.
Please note: The free 7-day meal boxes are available only on a pre-order basis. If you would like to receive meal boxes, you must sign up by 12:00 p.m. on Thursday the week prior to your first pickup to allow time for processing and meal preparation. Once you have signed up, meals will continue to be prepared for you weekly. If you wish to stop receiving meal boxes, you must cancel by 12:00 p.m. on the Thursday the week prior to the following week’s Friday meal box.
