State Rep. Eric Lucero was a featured speaker at the campaign kickoff and fundraiser for Alexander Buster Deputie on July 17.
"Republicans are continuing to work hard spreading our positive message of hope, life, individual liberty and independence which is resonating with voters in traditional Democrat strongholds," Lucero said in a Facebook post.
Deputie, an immigrant from Liberia, Africa, is running for Minnesota State Senate District 67.
"I have so much invested personally in this part of St. Paul and I am tired of no one representing my neighborhood the way we deserve to be represented. So, I am going to do something about it by running for office," Deputie said according to his website.
Deputie is concerned with ensuring the economy in St. Paul and the rest of the state thrives and that job opportunities continue to be available for his neighbors. He encourages Minnesotans and all Americans to find common ground and unity through heritage as American citizens, saying solutions to current issues can be resolved upon finding this commonality.
