City of Golden Valley issued the following announcement on Feb. 11.
The Golden Valley Police Department has canceled its Feb 20 GVPD University Citizen’s Academy class. Sign-ups are still open for the March 12 class.
Citizen’s Academy offers Golden Valley residents the chance to go behind the scenes for an in-depth look at the City’s Police and Fire Departments and learn about things like patrol, training, SWAT, much more. Participants will even get the opportunity to extinguish a live fire at the March 12 class. Classes are free and open to anyone, though some courses are more adult-oriented than others.
