CITY OF CHAMPLIN: Trout Fishing Contest Parking Information

Fishing

City of Champlin issued the following announcement on Feb. 4.

The City of Champlin is holding a Trout Fishing Contest on Saturday February 8, 2020 at 10377 French Lake Road (the pond across from the Reserve at Elm Creek), from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This post (a letter was also mailed to residents in the area) serves to notify residents of the event and to assist in navigating the streets affected by the event. Participants will be asked to follow parking instructions according to the map.

The map shows where signage will be placed to assist participants with parking. This map also provides an aerial view of the roads in the area where no event parking will be enforced. There are arrows on the map that indicate the flow of traffic from 9 a.m. when parking begins, until 4 p.m. when participants are requested to be done and gone from the event area. Parking will only be allowed on one side of the residential streets and driveways/mailboxes will not be blocked. Parking attendants and the Police Department will be on hand directing traffic.

Residents of the area will always be able to come and go from their homes, although it may require a small detour.

Emergency vehicles are being stationed at the pond and in the northern most cul-de-sac on Quaker Ln. for the event. Police will be enforcing event parking rules and vehicles will be subject to towing if parked in non-designated areas.

Your cooperation for this event is appreciated and staff thanks you for your patience. If there are questions regarding the event, please contact the City of Champlin’s Park and Recreation department at 763-923-7163 or by email at Clehn@ci.champlin.mn.us.
