Were students of Intermediate School District 287 able to meet MCA and MTAS Math testing expectations in 2021-22 school year?

Intermediate School District 287 ranked 15th in the Hennepin County for test participation, with 76 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Intermediate School District 287 students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 111.1% over the previous year.

Intermediate School District 287's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 5% in 2021-22 school year.

11th-grade students stood out with 0% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, sixth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 92% not meeting the expected standards.

Intermediate School District 287 encompasses schools within Hennepin County and has a main office in Plymouth.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
