Kristin Robbins, a Minnesota state legislator and declared gubernatorial candidate, expressed her views on public safety and the upcoming governor’s race in a series of tweets posted in early November 2025.
On November 1, Robbins responded to recent crime news with criticism of current state leadership, stating, "So sad and frustrated by this horrible news! Under @Tim_Walz & the city’s failed leadership, violent crime is up. Violence interrupters don’t work. We need to fully fund police, increase penalties for violent crime, & actually prosecute criminals."
Two days later, Robbins commented on Governor Tim Walz’s potential bid for a third term. On November 3 she wrote, "Minnesotans are fed up! When asked if Tim Walz should run for a third term, the answer was LOUD and CLEAR - NO! Minnesotans want a governor who will put them first. I’m the best candidate to beat Tim Walz and bring common-sense back to St. Paul! Get involved today! "
Later that day, Robbins also posted support for Minnesota's NHL team: "Let’s go, @mnwild!! " (November 3).
Robbins’ posts reflect ongoing debates over public safety policy in Minnesota as well as the political landscape ahead of the next gubernatorial election. As a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives and now a gubernatorial candidate, Robbins has been vocal about issues such as law enforcement funding and government accountability.
Governor Tim Walz has served as Minnesota’s governor since January 2019 after previously representing Minnesota's First Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
