Minnesota State Representative Danny Nadeau has addressed constituents in a recent legislative update, focusing on the feedback gathered from a district survey and outlining his engagement plans during the Minnesota State Fair.

Nadeau acknowledged that some residents had issues accessing a previous survey, stating, "I appreciate you letting me know. The issue has been fixed, and the updated link is included at the bottom of this email. If you were unable to complete the survey before, I encourage you to take a few minutes to share your thoughts now. Your feedback is important, and I want to make sure every voice is heard."

He invited constituents to meet him at the House of Representatives booth in the Education Building during the State Fair on August 21st, 23rd, and 30th between noon and 2 PM. "If you’re at the Fair, please stop by and say hello - I’d love to hear from you," Nadeau wrote.

Reflecting on responses from his latest survey, Nadeau noted a wide range of views within his district but emphasized that such input guides his work at the state capitol. He stated: "Thank you to everyone who took part in my most recent survey. Our district is full of different views, and your perspectives help guide the work I do in St. Paul. The surveys, town halls, and listening sessions help keep your priorities at the center of my work. Please continue to stay engaged. Your thoughts and ideas matter."

Survey results indicated dissatisfaction with last session’s outcomes and highlighted core government services as priorities for improvement—specifically public safety, healthcare, and education.

On education policy concerns: "Most respondents rated public schools as a high priority and want the legislature to focus on ways to help increase student performance." Regarding Minnesota's new Paid Family and Medical Leave program: "Over 70% said they were at least somewhat familiar with it, but 60% believe it has significant implementation challenges. The vast majority also expressed doubts about whether the state can implement and manage the program effectively."

Concerns about fraud or misuse of government funds emerged frequently among responses; there was also notable support for tax cuts and streamlining government operations. Other issues cited included mental health services access, law enforcement support needs, infrastructure investment demands, high taxes concerns related both locally and federally, political division worries, crime rates anxiety, calls for greater accountability in leadership roles.

Constituents offered suggestions for how Nadeau could improve service delivery while many encouraged him to maintain fiscal responsibility standards: "Fiscal responsibility, accountability, and protecting taxpayer dollars came up often," he reported.

Nadeau concluded by emphasizing bipartisan collaboration: "While some stressed conservative principles and others highlighted progressive goals, the common thread was a desire for practical balanced leadership." He also noted ongoing encouragement for open dialogue with residents about difficult topics facing Minnesota today.

According to Nadeau’s summary of recent constituent input: “The last survey made it clear: public safety and healthcare affordability are the top concerns from respondents.” He called on residents once again for their participation through an updated policy survey link.
