Minnesota State Representative Danny Nadeau has announced his participation at the upcoming Minnesota State Fair. He will be available at the House of Representatives booth in the Education Building from 12 to 2 PM on Thursday, August 21st, Saturday, August 23rd, and Saturday, August 30th. Nadeau is encouraging constituents attending the fair to stop by and share their thoughts.

Nadeau expressed gratitude to residents who recently participated in his district survey. He said these surveys, along with town halls and listening sessions, are important for keeping constituent priorities central to his legislative work in St. Paul.

According to survey results shared by Nadeau, most respondents felt that last legislative session did not meet expectations and want lawmakers to focus more on core government services such as public safety, healthcare, and education. Public schools were identified as a high priority issue, with many calling for efforts to improve student performance.

Regarding the new Paid Family and Medical Leave program, over 70% of those surveyed said they were at least somewhat familiar with it. However, 60% believe there are significant challenges in implementing the program effectively. Most respondents also expressed skepticism about the state's ability to manage the program successfully.

Concerns about fraud and misuse of government funds were widespread among participants. Many also suggested that reducing taxes and adjusting the size of government should be top priorities. Other frequently mentioned issues included mental health services, law enforcement, and infrastructure investments.

When asked about Minnesota’s biggest challenges, respondents cited high taxes, federal policy impacts, government growth, accountability issues, crime rates, political division, and concerns about leadership.

Nadeau thanked constituents for providing feedback on how he can better serve them: "Many of you encouraged me to stay the course, which I am grateful for. Fiscal responsibility, accountability, and protecting taxpayer dollars came up often, along with a strong call to continue working on real solutions in a bipartisan, common-sense way." He noted that while some emphasized conservative values and others highlighted progressive goals, there was general agreement on seeking practical leadership.

He also highlighted calls from constituents for continued accessibility and open discussions about pressing issues facing the community.

The latest survey indicates that public safety and healthcare affordability remain top concerns among respondents. Nadeau is inviting further input through a new policy survey available online.
