Representative Danny Nadeau (R-Rogers) issued a statement as the 2025 Minnesota legislative session ended without resolving several key issues. Lawmakers now anticipate a special session to address outstanding matters.
Nadeau commented on the unfinished business, stating, "We’ve come to the end of the regular session, but there’s still important work left to do. Minnesotans deserve a government that shows up, works hard, and finishes its job. Right now, that means coming back for a special session to deliver the results our communities need."
He highlighted his efforts during the session, particularly in education, healthcare, and pension reform. "This session, I worked hard to bring forward practical, bipartisan solutions, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, and pension reform. I’m proud of the progress we’ve made, especially in securing sustainable funding for essential services and pushing for structural reforms that protect taxpayers now and in the future," Nadeau said.
However, Nadeau expressed disappointment over certain proposals not advancing. "But I’m also disappointed that important proposals on teacher pension reforms and healthcare solutions I brought to the House floor were blocked due to political intransigence. These are serious issues that directly impact our schools, families, and the future of our communities. They deserve more than a procedural dismissal."
Looking ahead to a possible special session, he added: "As we look ahead to a special session, I remain committed to doing the hard work it takes to find agreement and deliver results. I’ll keep fighting for the people of my district and all Minnesotans to restore fiscal responsibility, strengthen our schools, and ensure our government stays accountable to those it serves."
Details regarding when or how a special legislative session will proceed have not yet been finalized.
