Kristin Robbins, a Minnesota state legislator, posted a series of tweets on September 16, 2025, criticizing actions by the Department of Human Services (DHS) and Governor Tim Walz. In her first tweet, Robbins alleged that DHS allowed fraudulent healthcare providers to continue billing insurers after Hennepin Health had stopped payments to them. She wrote, "DHS knew that Hennepin Health had stopped payment to fraudulent providers but they allowed these providers to keep billing other insurers instead of shutting them down. Unconscionable!" (September 16, 2025).

Later the same day, Robbins accused Governor Tim Walz of using divisive language against his political opponents. She stated, "Tim Walz has repeatedly used violent rhetoric to attack his opponents-remember when he called for fellow Dems to 'get meaner'& 'bully the sh-t' out of @POTUS? Tim Walz is fostering the divisive, angry political climate that is a real threat to our democratic values. #NoThanks" (September 16, 2025).

In a third post on September 16, Robbins summarized her criticism of Governor Walz’s tenure by referencing various issues in Minnesota over the past seven years. She wrote, "A good recap of the anger & bitterness @Tim_Walz. He wants you to forget all the failures of the last 7 years, huge deficits, higher taxes, rising crime, low test scores & rampant fraud. No Thanks. Minnesotans deserve a Governor who will put them first!"

The Department of Human Services in Minnesota has previously faced scrutiny regarding oversight and management practices related to provider fraud and insurance billing processes.
