On July 9, 2025, Robbins expressed concern over the use of taxpayer money in relation to Governor Tim Walz's preparations for a Congressional hearing. She stated, "This is an outrageous abuse of taxpayers’ money. The Governor has legal counsel on his staff who are paid a salary. They should be sufficient to prepare him for a Congressional hearing."

The Legislative Advisory Council should not pay for this out of the Contingency Fund. The Governor can find a way to pay for it out of his budget."
