Good Morning BCS Families and Students,
I wanted to provide you with an update on our proposed leadership shifts at BCS. On July 20, I sent a message to you detailing my intent to place Mr. Fraser into a Principal on Special Assignment (POSA) position that would focus on continuous improvement and safe and secure schools. We posted the principal position and went through an interview process, however, we have made the decision to not move forward with the hiring process.
I was committed from the start to only move forward with this plan if we found the person who would be the exact fit for our BCS community. The timing of this leadership shift is critical and has to line up with meeting the needs of our students and the strategic plan for the district.
At this point, Mr. Fraser will remain in place as principal at BCS. We will be posting an additional position for an administrative teacher on special assignment (TOSA). This position will allow for additional support for the leadership team at BCS and will simultaneously allow Mr. Fraser space to do some of the additional leadership work focused around safe and secure schools and the continuous improvement process. With this staffing change, we will be able to continue our partnership with the Institute for Environmental Assessment as we build out a comprehensive plan for safe and secure schools.
The TOSA position will allow for a licensed staff member who is an aspiring administrator to gain some leadership experience and will allow for the district to move forward with some of these special projects.
The timeline for this process will be as follows:
- Posting Admin TOSA: 5-day posting from August 12 - August 18
- Screening: Friday, August 19
- Interviews: Monday, August 22
Thank you for your support as we move through this process and begin the 22-23 school year.
Sincerely,
Dr. Carly Baker
Superintendent
