On Thursday, April 21, 2022, Superintendent Dr. Carly Baker received the 2022 District Leadership in Communication Award from the Minnesota School Public Relations Association (MinnSPRA).
This award recognizes an educational leader for outstanding leadership in school public relations and communications. The award highlights the importance of a leader’s role in implementing and supporting an effective communications program.
“Carly consistently demonstrates her understanding that her message is only as clear as the understanding of the person receiving it,” Cheryl Jechorek, School Board Chair, noted in her nomination letter. “She fully understands this is crucial to the success of the students and families she was hired to love and embrace and, subsequently, for the success of the district and community she serves.”
“Dr. Baker is a trusted voice in the Brooklyn Center community because she is a leader who builds relationships with her students, staff and families,” said Susan Brott, APR, and member of MinnSPRA, in her nomination letter. “She communicates with honesty and emotion, and is able to connect with others because she authentically cares and is proud to show it.”
Congratulations to Dr. Baker on this recognition!
