City Of Golden Valley issued the following announcement on Nov. 27.
In a typical year there are many holiday themed events happening throughout the City. This year, many of them are still happening—they just look a little different.
Toys For Tots
To help limit contact with the public and to keep Golden Valley police officers and residents safe, the Golden Valley Police Department (GVPD) will not be accepting donations for Toys For Tots this year. Instead, the GVPD is asking residents to donate directly to the Toys For Tots organization.
Drop off toys at the KARE 11 Toys For Tots tent (8811 Olson Memorial Hwy) or at the Toys For Tots headquarters (767 Eustis Street, St Paul, MN) Nov 30–Dec 14.

Be A Santa To A Senior
The Golden Valley Fire Relief Association is once again taking part in the Be A Santa To A Senior program.
The program has a goal of providing gifts to residents in and around our community who would otherwise not receive a gift during the holidays.
Find more information and donate virtually at beasantatoasenior.com.
Canadian Pacific Holiday Train
Since the Canadian Pacific (CP) Holiday Train won’t be making its usual stops around the country this year, CP is hosting “Holiday Train At Home,” a virtual concert Saturday, Dec 12, 7 pm. The event will be streamed live on the CP Facebook page.
To make sure donations to PRISM still occur this year, residents are encouraged to take non-perishable food and other household item donations directly to PRISM (1220 Zane Ave N). Visit the PRISM website for current donation needs.
Brookview Artist Showcase
The Artist Showcase will return to Brookview Jan 29, 2021 for an online gallery experience. Presented by Golden Valley Arts and St Louis Park Friends of the Arts, the event will feature work by up to 100 artists, with mediums ranging from visual art to recorded music and dance performances.
The Artist Showcase is a community-led exhibit celebrating artists and creatives who live, work, or learn in Golden Valley and St Louis Park. Its purpose is to build connections between local artists and their communities.
