WCC E2 volunteers continue to stay connected to students at the Emprendedora High School in Nicaragua, helping them practice speaking English. Mastering conversational English puts the Nicaraguan students at a significant hiring advantage when they graduate.
E2 volunteer Gary Orris, said, ”I enjoy talking with these bright and motivated 16 and 17 year old kids! They seem to enjoy it too (or they're good at faking it) and I've been told they get a lot out of it, which is very satisfying. Janice does a great job of organizing and teeing everything up so that all I have to do is show up for a half hour each week. I was concerned about finding the time but I've found it usually ends up being the best half hour of my day!"
