Sustainable companies and effective farming methods are still top priorities despite the widespread COVID-19, according to Cargill’s website as it announced a $2 million contribution in its partnership with the World Resources Institute (WRI).
In its latest phase, the two organizations are creating a new Water Management Toolkit that will let companies establish goals that cater to their specific water needs.
“Water is a key priority for Cargill because it is such a critical input to agriculture,” Truke Smoor, director of Water for Cargill said in a statement, according to Cargill’s website. “We believe we have an important leadership role in working with partners, like WRI, and across our value chain to accelerate sustainable water solutions that protect water quality and quantity and promote access to clean water.”
They also established the Global Forest Watch, which serves as a way for companies to track deforestation in close to real-time.
