Independence home prices fall in the first quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2019 in Independence fell by $135,525 while total sales increased by 27.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2019, there were 14 homes sold, with a median sale price of $375,000 - a 26.5% decrease over the $510,525 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 11 homes sold in Independence in the first quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Independence for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $5,414, approximately 1.4% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2019.
