City of Champlin issued the following announcement on Feb. 11.
The City of Champlin is considering conducting a Parks, Recreation and Trails Improvement Bond Referendum in 2021. As part of the planning process for the proposed Referendum process, the City is seeking two residents to serve on a 12-14 person Planning Committee charged with analyzing the future needs of the City's Parks, Recreation and Trail System.
Committee members will consist of members from the various youth athletic associations, senior organizations, City Advisory Commissions as well as general Parks, Trails and Open Space enthusiasts. Ideal candidates would not have affiliations to any of the organizations outlined above but possess a general interest in improving the active and passive Parks and Recreation opportunities for the Champlin community in the future.
The Parks, Recreation and Trails Bond Referendum Committee will meet monthly beginning in March of 2020. The Referendum Committee, along with the City's Parks and Recreation Commission will be forwarding a recommendation to the City Council regarding what Parks, Recreation and Trail System Facility Improvements could potentially be proposed to the residents for a public vote in 2021/2022.
