CITY OF GOLDEN VALLEY: City’s Equity Task Force Hosting Open Forum March 11 At Brookview

City Of Golden Valley issued the following announcement on Jan. 21.

Make equity part of your New Year’s resolution in 2020 and attend the Rising TIDES Task Force Open Forum March 11, 5:30–7:30 pm at Brookview (316 Brookview Pkwy). The Task Force is also taking applications to fill three open positions in the group.

Since its creation in January 2019, Rising TIDES has been focusing on ways to diversify employee recruitment; ensure equity in City programming, services, and facilities; increase diversity on the City’s boards and commissions; and more.

The forum is an opportunity for community members to speak with City officials, Task Force members, and each other on topics of equity and inclusion within the City and give input on the Task Force’s approach to tackling them. The event is free, family friendly, and attendees are encouraged to stay for all or only part of the forum.

Applications are open to people of all ages who live or attend school in Golden Valley and Golden Valley business members.

To apply, submit a letter of interest with your contact information and responses to the following questions:

  1. Why do you believe equity work within a community is important?
  2. How will your unique perspective and experiences contribute to reaching the goals of the Rising TIDES Task Force?
