Brookyln Center Community School issued the following announcement on March 23.

Six Brooklyn Center High School STEAM students were named recipients of Act Six full-tuition scholarships for the fall of 2022!

Act Six is a leadership development and college scholarship program that brings together multicultural cohorts of emerging leaders who want to use their college education to make a difference on campus and in their communities at home. Act Six is the only full-tuition, four-year leadership scholarship in Minnesota and partners with six local colleges and universities.

This year’s recipients include:

  • Lee’Rayvone Gibson, Psychology Major – Augsburg University
  • Egan Moua, Computer Science Major – Augsburg University
  • Aliza Lee, Nursing Major – Concordia University
  • Gracia Lumppio, English Major with an emphasis in creative writing – Bethel University 
  • Jasmine Lee, Psychology Major – North Central University
  • Samdi Williams, Pre Medicine – North Central University

“Brooklyn Center High School had the most ActSix scholars out of any school in the Twin Cities. We are small but don’t underestimate us, because we are mighty,” said Jackie Hayden, college and career readiness and BARR coordinator. “I am extremely proud of all of our scholars. They stepped up as leaders within our community and it has paid off!”
